Fitness by Farzan - Being Accountable! I am often asked how do I stay motivated. After 25+ years of keeping fit, challenging myself with various sport activities, I too sometimes wonder that!

Seriously, the real answer is that I feel my best when I am active. However, that does not mean it is always easy to do and sometimes is even painful. But I do know that when I make it through that uncomfortable part I will feel great. I realize that discomfort is not a good incentive for many but understanding that not only is it doable but the after feelings of accomplishment followed by tangible results are well worth it and become in themselves more of a reason to become and stay fit.

Fitness by Farzan - Women and Strength Training - Facts and Misconceptions There is still a lot of confusion and misinformation regarding strength training and women. For the past 25 years that I have worked in gyms and fitness centers, I have repeatedly heard these statements:

"But I don't want to get big!"

"I want to lose weight first, then tone up"

"How do I get rid of these" - as they point to their not so slim triceps and thighs

Usually these women have no qualm about participating in aerobic activities, but cringe with the idea of lifting weights. There seems that there is an underlying fear if getting big muscles. As if it is so easy!

Fitness by Farzan - Quick fixes! There is no doubt about it, We all want to see and feel results immediately! Instant body transformation with a minimal time investment is a common dream. Because of that, we are constantly bombarded by fad diets and exercise regimens that tout a dramatic outcome in a relatively short amount of time. In fact the market for this is a HUGE money maker. Diet book, home exercise equipment, exercise DVDs etc are some of the top money making products out there with little to no use.
